I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if
Moses had run them through the US Congress. -Ronald Reagan
The Oklahoman's I have met love their state. They believe
deeply in its promise, our values and our principles. But they
know something is wrong, and they want to take action. They
want to do something to right our path, and they feel Oklahoma
government is not listening.... But, I am- Loud and clear!
Oklahoma needs trustworthy and no-nonsense leadership in the
next decade and beyond. If we are able to tackle the economic
challenges that lay before us, then we must elect leaders with a
willingness to look at new ideas. With a post 9/11 mindset, we
have to be forever vigilant. We have no other option , but to
secure our borders and ports. We have to control 'who' comes
into this country, 'why', and 'what' they're bringing into this
country. We must remove government's smothering hand from
where it does harm; we must seek to revitalize the proper
functions of government.
I believe that job creation is the engine that drives opportunity.
Good jobs give our families the chance for a better tomorrow,
and they provide a steady revenue stream for government to
pay for priorities without higher taxes. I am a pro-family
conservative that believes government must do all that it can to
protect and strengthen families, because they are the very fabric
of our society. I advocate smaller government . Our veterans and
senior citizens deserve a better quality of life and health care.
They worked very hard, gave a lot of sweat so that we can enjoy
the freedoms that we have today. We owe it to them to make
Oklahoma better. We owe it to our children..
Oklahoma citizens are threatened by illegal immigration, unfair
taxation, and some branches of government that seem
unresponsive to the needs of families. In State Senate, I will be
devoted to family. We must eliminate the estate tax, the
Franchise tax, and lower personal income tax even more. This
can be accomplished by reducing wasteful, "pork barrel"
spending. "Oklahoma’s punitive tax policy is one conspicuous
inhibitor of growth", according to the Wall Street Journal.
Oklahoma’s tax burden (commonly defined as a ratio of tax
collections to personal income) over the last several decades has
been inching up relative to other states – the total state and local
tax burden in Oklahoma has been rising faster than in other
states. Secondly, Oklahoma’s tax structure is quite progressive,
meaning that new income is taxed heavily. These two trends
need to be reversed.
Our small businesses need our help! Investing in small
businesses would bring jobs and economic strength to the low-
income areas, rural towns, and communities. This can be done
by relaxing "big city" requirements that favor big business over
small business. Our "ghost" towns can become "host" towns. As
is: 99% of small businesses fail during their first year because it
costs too much to do business with government agencies. I will
promote association health care plans that will give small
businesses the same bargaining power with insurance carriers
that big businesses have. I deeply believe Oklahoman's deserve
free enterprise.
I choose our ideas over money, conviction over name
recognition, and action over debate.
My commitment is to you, and I will never waiver on that.
Most Respectfully,

I-40 and
